Find Hope For Your Soul in Simple Sunday School Songs

Take yourself back to Sunday school for a just minute.

“Jesus loves ME this I know. For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong. They are weak but He is strong.”

“This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.”

“My God is so big, so strong, and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do. The mountains are His, the rivers are His, the starts are His handiwork too. My God is so big, so strong, so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do.”

“O, be careful little eyes what you see. For the Father up above is looking down with love. O, be careful little eyes what you see.”

Such simple truth and sound theology in these precious songs. I recently started teaching these songs to my children, and realized I needed these songs more now as an adult as I ever did as a kid.

Jesus does love me. And you. Very much. The Bible tells me so and I'm reminded of that in my quiet time with Him.

He reminds me I am His beloved and He is mine. And that I do belong to Him. He is the best Father to the fatherless. I was knit together in my mother’s womb by His artistry. He has plans and a purpose for my life. I am nothing without Him. I am weak, but He is so strong.

Jesus does love me and sister, He loves you.

The love I have experienced from my Heavenly Father gave me a “light” to shine. He completely transformed my life. He did something absolutely amazing that no one or no other thing could do.

I was a borderline alcoholic... a broken mess of a woman and because of His amazing mercy and grace, He met me right in the middle of my mess.

It’s taken a whole lot of time but because I know I am loved by Him, not because the Bible told me so, but because He showed me so, I have to shine Him in everything I do.

Do I always do it perfectly? HA! Not at all. But, praise God, I am not who I used to be and that little light He gave me to shine, does shine pretty bright in very dark places. We are called to be salt and LIGHT and set apart.

This little light of mine...

The more we know Him, the more we grow in Him, the more time we spend with Him, the brighter our light gets. Sister, go out in the world and let your little light shine because this dark world is depending on you to show them the light of His love.

My God really is so big, so strong, and so mighty, there’s absolutely one thing He cannot do. He created every single thing in this world and said it was good. He is dependable, He is faithful, He is a very mighty God.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7.

God asks us to have the faith of a child. To knock, seek, and trust.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ. Romans 10:17.

Sister, get into the Word. Jesus performed miracles for countless people in the Bible. He loves you enough to do the same for you.

My faith and His faithfulness to me has caused Jesus to shine through me and my experiences of His goodness has led others to know Him. Don’t you ever think for a second that there isn’t anything that our big, strong, mighty God can’t do for you sister.  He’s just as capable today as He was 2,000 years ago.

Because He left the 99 for me, one measly, lost sheep, out of a love I didn’t understand. That love changed my life, and because of that, it’s my personal responsibility to protect what He has done in my life.

Be careful little eyes what you see

I have to be very careful of what my eyes see, what my ears hear, what my mouth says, what my hands do, where my feet go, who I trust, and what I think. The thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy. I can only let him kill, steal, and destroy what I give him to do those things with.

If I’ve really experienced the real love of Jesus, which I have, the Holy Spirit comes in and does His job to make sure I keep my light shining bright, and living out His purpose for my life on this earth to know God and make Him known to others.

Find Hope For Your Soul in Sunday School Songs

Sister, it might seem a little silly but if you’re in a hard place and you’re really struggling, I encourage you to remind yourself of these simple truths.

He loves you and has amazing plans for you.

The joy that His salvation brings is life-changing, yet when we aren't on guard, the enemy slowly creeps in and tries to steal that joy that's deep in our hearts.

So I challenge you today, no matter what you’re facing, don’t let the enemy steal that joy.

Tell that enemy that the joy of the Lord is your strength and if he doesn’t like it, well…. he can sit on a tack today and tomorrow and the day after that…

I’m praying that you let Sunday school change your life one more time exactly like it changed mine and that you truly find hope for your soul in Sunday School Songs.
