Conflict with your family and friends can be detrimental to your relationship with God
"Therefore if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift."Matthew 5:24
You should always seek to live at peace with your family members.
"If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone."Romans 12:18
P.S. If your family member doesn't want to live at peace with you despite your attempts, it's okay to add some distance. You should try to reconcile if your family member is willing, but don't allow yourself to be dragged down to a unnecessary conflict if they aren't. If this relationship is abusive or detrimental to you, keep walking towards forgiveness, even if it takes baby steps each day.
